Welcome to March and Lent!

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church ENewsDuring this season of the year, we join not only with each other at Beautiful Savior, but with our fellow believers throughout the world to focus on our need for Christ’s sacrifice and also on our response to His sacrifice. Lent at Beautiful Savior is a special time of Worship, Study, Devotion, and Prayer. This year will be no exception. I invite you to be a part of the Lenten journey, from Ash Wednesday, March 6, through Easter Sunday, April 21. As I said, it will be a special time, and you can read more about it in this edition of ENews. I look forward to walking through this season with you.

Would You Try Something New?

Around this season, many think about the things they will give up for Lent. We would like to encourage you to consider trying something new, like music. There are many opportunities to serve God and your fellow believers with your voices and instruments.

Repent and Return: A Prophetic Lent

Read any Old Testament prophets lately?
At the time they certainly were the most important religious leaders among the people. As spokesmen for God, “This is what the Lord says,” is their repeated phrase. Sometimes that Word from God was one of warning and judgement. Often it was a word of hope and restoration. For the prophets, the ultimate hope was in the Messiah and the New Covenant He would bring. During this season of Lent, we will hear the Word of the prophets and see how they point us to God’s ultimate salvation in Jesus.

Visit the Lent table in the Gathering Space to learn more about worship, devotions, joining a small group, and more. We encourage you to participate in these spiritual growth opportunities.

Our Story…

One day a parent shared she was going to a Women’s Bible Conference. Her son turned to her and said, “Mommy, you don’t need to go away to learn about Jesus. You can come to school with me.” He was right. Every day our children hear and learn about God and His love. That is what our Child Development Center is all about; Sharing Jesus with the children and families!
