Lately, there has been a lot of news surrounding the COVID-19 virus as well as other forms of Influenza making their way through our communities. After consulting with Pastor Tom, we wanted to take a minute and reassure you that Beautiful Savior is monitoring the situation closely as well as taking some common-sense steps to provide an environment that is not only safe but is also done with excellence for guests and members alike. At this time, all regularly scheduled worship services, Sunday School, Bible studies, etc. will occur as planned.
You may have noticed an increase in hand sanitizing stations throughout our campus. Beginning this weekend, you will notice a few safety changes in Worship. These will include how we collect the offering to limit the exposure commonly found by passing the plate, and altering how we share the peace during our worship times. Communion will be prepared with the use of sterile gloves; Eucharistic Ministers will be provided hand sanitizer and use tongs to serve wafers as a safety precaution. Individual Communion cups are washed according to the Minnesota Department of Health sanitary and safety standards.
These and many others common-sense steps are being taken in our children’s, youth, and adult ministries to provide that safe and excellent environment. Unfortunately, one of the common-sense steps we needed to take was to cancel our annual Easter Experience for this year. We worked to see if we could provide a safe and excellent environment in our current climate. However, we realized that we wouldn’t be able to without seriously sacrificing the excellence of the event. While we look forward to resuming this great event in 2021, we are disappointed. But we will continue to trust God for His provision and continued blessings on the many other opportunities we have this year to make a difference in people’s lives.
As we take the appropriate steps to provide a safe and excellent environment, we are asking for your help. Please join us in following these common-sense steps from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Wash your hand often and thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough.
If you happen to miss out on worship because of an illness, please don’t forget you can catch up! All the different opportunities are found here on our website: beautifulsaviorlc.org/worship
In the event of changes or closures, you will be notified through our One Call Now phone notification system as well as Congregational Email.
Thank you for your time and thank you for joining me in providing a safe and excellent environment here at Beautiful Savior as we worship our God in Christ!
